President Pat Hurley is Going to Denver

Pat Hurley won the April 13th caucus to become a Hillary Clinton delegate at the Democratic Party National Convention in August.  Marilyn Riley, who was also elected, will accompany him.  A strong supporter of the Clintons since 1993, Pat met President Bill Clinton at the North Island Naval Base that same year.  Pat was responsible for local press releases countering negative and misleading media statements regarding Administration policies.  He also spoke on behalf of the First Lady in support of the President's National Healthcare Campaign.  He continued to serve on various campaigns and was elected President of the Santee Democratic Club.  Given his years of hard work for the Clintons and the Democratic Party, it is no surprise that Pat is thrilled at the news.  Donations to offset travel expenses are greatly appreciated.

The mission of the Santee Democratic Club is to foster Democratic ideals; to improve the lives of working Americans, children, students and the elderly through political pressure applied to all levels of government; to become informed and to disseminate facts on the issues; to encourage Democrats to vote; and to help shape and support the Democratic Party Platform.

The Santee Democratic Club provides opportunities for active political participation. We welcome Democrats who want change and are willing to help achieve it.

Come to a meeting and let your concerns be known. Help recruit the best Democratic candidates and talk with them in person.

Jan Barnes: 1939-2008

Known  affectionately as the unofficial mascot by the staff of "Mike Lumpkin for Congress", Jan Barnes will be missed. Jan attended all Santee and La Mesa Democratic Club events with the enthusiasm of a seasoned campaigner. Though hindered by chronic disease, she handled adversity with grit and determination. Jan is watching over us now, urging us on to victory.
